Bake-off mania reaches the academy

The finals of our Great CAM Bake-Off were held live during assemblies in December.

The challenge, set by the Technology department, invited students to represent their academy Family across a number of gruelling rounds:

  • shortbread biscuits during the elimination rounds of over 50 students
  • decorated fairy cakes and apple pie during round 2
  • a showstopping gingerbread house in the final

The finals stretched over three assemblies, each day pitting two Families against each other. The judges included experts from our academy kitchen and the Science department, as well as guest judges from Co-op.

Teacher of Technology Mrs Longmore, who presented the amazing gingerbread houses to the judges, couldn’t praise the finalists enough. The commitment they had shown in this fun after-school competition and the hard work racing against the clock was a joy to see.

The finalists and winners were:

Precious (Acland Family) vs Davina (Ashworth Family)

Melinda (Usiri Family) vs Latisha (Brierley Family)

Safi (Edhi Family) vs Lyla (Cooper Family)
