Down to business: enterprise students win not one, but two trophies in competition
Year 10 Enterprise students brought home the silver from a business challenge against other schools. The two trophies, now proudly displayed for all to see, represent the achievements of two teams of students in the Adam Corbally Enterprise Challenge.
The challenge took place at The Manchester College and was set by Adam Corbally, who was a finalist on BBC’s The Apprentice with Lord Alan Sugar. Following an inspirational talk from Mr Corbally, the students were tasked with creating a new product or service that would be sold initially from a market stall, with just a budget of £100.
A team including Basil, Harvey, Ladislav, Tyler and Michael came in first place whilst our other team (Maleeha, Halle, Jodi and Sean) came second – leaving other schools trailing behind. Both teams were complimented on their creativity and presentation skills for their business ideas.
In addition, back-flipping Basil wowed the judges with a stunning monologue, earning an extra award for the most enthusiastic presentation.
Perhaps we will see these students following Mr Corbally’s footsteps and succeeding with their own businesses once they finish school. Head of Business and Enterprise Mr Yeandle was very proud of all the students who he called a ‘credit to the school’.
