Parent Forum – listening to the perspective of parents and carers

Please find minutes from the Parent/Carer Forum as a downloadable PDF below.

On Thursday 13 December 2018, Principal Mr Brice welcomed a group of parents and carers to listen to their views and discuss the continued improvement of the academy.

What is Parent Forum?

Each term, academy Principal Mr Brice invites parents and carers to join him for a tea/coffee and to talk about general issues that affect large numbers of parents/carers. Regular topics of discussion include lunches, homework/Independent Learning Tasks and planners, the MyEd app and more.

Throughout the year we hold a number of Parent Forum events, and parents are welcome to attend as many or as few as they like. We hold both morning and evening sessions throughout the year. Whilst you might not be able to make all of them, we hope everyone who wants to come has an opportunity to attend some of them.

This forum was the second forum on the year, and gave Mr Brice a chance to discuss some progress that had been made since the October meeting. In particular, movement around the building is calmer, students are not having to queue up for lunch for as long, and more students have access to a locker.

Parents and carers also brought some new topics to discussion – asking about our 2019-2020 term dates (which are also being published today on this website) and the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, which we are hoping to start up again.

There were many other topics discussed, please do look at the minutes below.

Thank you to all those parents and carers who gave their time for these useful and positive discussions. The dates of future forums are available on our events page.
