The Best Of Blackley Celebrated At Special International Culture Day

On Saturday 20 July the academy hosted an International Culture Day, celebrating the wealth of diversity and culture amongst our students, staff and community.

Students, staff, families and the whole community were invited to join us for music, dancing, crafts and more. Visitors were encouraged to wear their traditional dress or wear bright colours to celebrate the North Manchester communities whose heritages stretch around the world.

Visitors and participants have shared some great feedback from the event on social media, including this:

"I love when I see so many schools do this, organising and putting together cultural days, celebrating diversity and culture within school, yesterday I was soo proud to be involved as the DJ at the fantastic  @CoopManchester - thank you soo much for organising this, great day!"

Kemoy Walker

Ms O’Connor, who organised the day, said that it was “a lovely way to (almost!) end the year and I really enjoyed forging positive relationships with our families and the wider, local community.”
