Students should not feel worried or anxious about these mock exams but instead try their best in all their subjects. It is really important that your child spends time at home revising for these examinations. Revision resources have been given in all subjects. There is also a raft of materials on the Google classroom for students to access and different apps students can use, for example Sparks, Educake and Seneca. In addition, students can always ask their class teacher for anything extra they need prior to their exams. These mock examinations are important as they will enable teachers to identify gaps in knowledge and plan for future progression.

XL Revision Sessions

XL Revision sessions will be running during the following times over the Mock Weeks. These sessions are optional.

Top Tips for beating Exam Stress

Get enough sleep!

Take regular exercise

Feed your brain with healthy, regular meals

Drink plenty of fluids

Keep up iron levels

– dark green leafy vegetables, red meat, beans and seafood all contain high levels

Take plenty of short breaks

Try to leave enough time in your revision for some fun

Be realistic - do not try and do too much in one day

Chill out! When you start to feel you are losing it –take some time:

  • Close your eyes, breathe deeply and slowly, Tell yourself how well you are doing
  • Shake your arms, relax your shoulders to decrease tension
  • Go for a walk or do some exercise
  • Use sayings such as ‘calm down’ and ‘relax’

After the exams there may be feelings of relief…

…but you may feel a little anxious if things have not gone well. You may want to talk with your parents, friends or a member of staff about how you feel.

How to get your exam certificates

Certificates are presented to students at a special Presentation Evening in November after students have completed Year 11.

Students can collect their exam certificates from the Exams Officer for up to one year after they have left the academy. After this they will have to contact Awarding Bodies to obtain copies by following the links below:
