Weekly Bulletin for parents and carers, 17 March

Dear parents and carers, please find this week's bulletin below.
- We wish a continued Ramadan Mubarak to all of our families who are observing this holy month. Where your child was indicated as Muslim on our admissions form, we have sent a letter explaining our attendance procedures for Eid.
- After Easter we are asking families to only pay online (using Arbor) for lunches and trips - we will be a cashless academy. (Help with Arbor available here). Our next co-op Heroes rewards trip to Alton Towers requires a payment of £25 through Arbor - parents and carers of eligible students have been sent the details.

Reading at Co-op Academy Manchester - a guide for parents and carers
This week we want to share with you our approach to helping your child's reading skills - and how you can help at home.
Mr Saleh, our Reading Improvement Lead, has put together a special update for you and we would love you to spend a few minutes reading it.

Important changes to Bee Network child tickets
We have been asked to share the following information: from 23 March, the Bee Network is launching new ticket options.
Here’s their top tips for paying for child fares from 23 March:
- Download the Bee Network app to pay for a range of child tickets.
- When paying with contactless, always ask the bus driver for a child ticket before tapping your card (to avoid getting charged adult fare).
- Keep your TfGM travel pass (igo card, Our Pass) separate from bank cards when you tap the card reader, to avoid your bank card being charged an adult fare.
Your one-stop-shop for travelling to school information is available at www.beenetwork.com/schools - you can also get in touch with the Bee Network Contact Centre online or call: 0161 244 1000.
