Weekly Bulletin for parents and carers, 3 September 2024

Dear parents and carers,

Welcome to the new school year! We are especially pleased to welcome parents and carers of our new Year 7 students.

Each week we send these weekly updates letting you know what's going on in the school and any key dates. We will send a message directly to you to let you know a new edition is published, but they can always be found on our website at https://www.manchester.coopacademies.co.uk/letters-home - if you ever worry that you aren't receiving our messages please check there. Of course, we won't publish any confidential letters about your child there.

We need a current phone number and email address for all parents and carers, so please let us know if you change them.

For the next few weeks we are sending messages via a service called Iris Reach. This will send you a free My Ed app message if you have the app, or else an SMS message if you do not. We do ask parents and carers to please download the app as it reduces the cost of messaging. By October half-term, we plan to move to the service provided by Arbor. This will mean that messages, behaviour data and lunch payments are 'all in one place' for parents and carers.

We've moved to Arbor Pay

You can view your child's transactions and top-up their lunch accounts in Arbor.

Changes to the 708 Bus Timetable

Over the summer, Transport for Greater Manchester amended the 708 school bus timetable with an earlier start time for the return journey. The 708 will now leave the academy at 3:05pm each day. This means students are not waiting around for as long.

Find out more about passes and timetables at tfgm.com/travelling-to-school

Drop-off and pick-up times

The academy is a big school on a small, busy road. Please be very careful when driving near the school at the start and end of the school day. If possible, please drop-off and pick-up your child away from Plant Hill Road to ease congestion.

The area around the school is very residential  and so we say thank you on behalf of our neighbours for not blocking driveways or marked disabled bays.

Students are welcome to cycle to school - we have cycle storage that is locked during the school day, although we advise bringing a bike lock too.

Are you receiving these messages by SMS? Please download our Parent App. It's called My Ed, saves the school money and lets you message us for free and see useful information about your child.
