Weekly Bulletin for parents and carers, 23 September
Welcome to this week's update.
- We are giving out lanyards to students this week, which will include a copy of their timetable. We will be asking students to wear these at all times during the school day. At the end of each day we are asking students to put them safely in their pockets - so please watch out for these when washing uniform!
- Students will be shown how to use Sparx Reader this week. This is a key part of our new approach to homework. Once students have all the logins they need we will start encouraging students to complete their homework consistently, but at the moment we understand that not all students are ready to start.
- From today, students in Years 7-9 have an improved lunchtime offer with a new outdoor pod serving sandwiches, pasta and drinks. This is in addition to their hot food options in their main dining space.

Last week, Tempest Photography sent out information on how to view and purchase your child's school photos by email. There is no obligation to purchase these, but please do get in touch if you haven't received this information but would like to.

BBC Bitesize visits the academy
Years 7-10 enjoyed a special careers talk from the BBC with a special guest from TV's Waterloo Road.

Mr Glover is excited to share his vision for the year with parents and carers. We invite you to come in and hear our plans to move from "good" to "GREAT" - as well as showing you some of the building work we have undertaken over the summer.
Arbor and Lunch Payments
We encourage all parents and carers to log on to Arbor and start tracking their child's lunch transactions.
As we move to being a cashless site, all lunch payments will eventually need to be made via Arbor.
