Year 7 experience a university-style lecture
Kimberley from Year 7 reports on a recent lecture she attended, designed to open Year 7’s eyes to the world of university education.
“It was amazing! Year 7 have been studying The Tempest by William Shakespeare. In order to challenge students further, our teachers decided to deliver a lecture on some of the more obscure backstories or contexts. During the lecture, we mainly focused on looking at colonialism and the theory that many of the themes were inspired by Shakespeare’s own life experiences.
It was so much fun. I would love to do more. This would benefit me because it encourages me to look in between the lines and look into the context in greater depth.”
Well done to the students who attended this after-school enrichment opportunity for their commitment and engagement.
