In July 2024 a group of students took a residential trip to the Eden Project in Cornwall.
In recent years the number of children recognised with SEND has increased across the country and this is also the case in the Academy. As a result, we have had to adapt the way we do things for children with Education Care Health Plans (EHCPs) and other levels of SEND support.

It’s now been a full year since we opened Higher Blackley’s Community Fridge to the whole community. It’s open every Tuesday between 3 and 4pm.
On Thursday 14 December 2023, our singers and musicians put on a special Christmas Concert for the community.
A total of 12 students - now in Year 10 and 11 - gave up their spare time last year to study for the WJEC Additional Maths Level 2, which is effectively an A-Level taster.
On Thursday 23 November we welcomed back our class of 2023. Since leaving in June, they have started college, traineeships and apprenticeships. We invited them - and their families - to return to celebrate their achievements over the last five years and to collect their GCSE certificates.
On Wednesday 22 November, we were delighted to welcome students and their families, as well as the local community, to our Astronomy Evening.
Co-op Academy Manchester students gathered today to collect their GCSE results. This special day marks the end of many years of determination and resilience on the part of our students. We are proud of all their achievements and pleased to see how these results unlock places at colleges, sixth forms and apprenticeships.
